14th February was my first day at Karkhana.
Most people believe 14th Feb to be the day of love. However, my first day at Karkhana was the 14th of February coincidentally.
I had a common narrative about Karkhana that the workplace there is all about having fun, learning, something with science, refreshment, and team bonding.
Previously, I used to work in an organization located in the same building as Karkhana. We collectively made many memories in Gyaneshwor. Since then, I have always wondered how the people at Karkhana have been doing their work in such a powerful manner while never failing to entertain each other.
Here comes how it felt to be showered with love on Valentine’s Day at my new workspace. On the first day, I was tasked with a Design Challenge alongside the KMC Fellowship Program. There, we had to make a paper tower, and thus I got the chance to learn about how Karkhana uses their kit to make students understand how Science can be taught in a fun and engaging manner.
I find Design Challenge to be an interesting and fun way of taking interviews. I spent the entire day with my co-workers at Karkhana, making beautiful conversations and relations.
Luckily, it was Wednesday Refreshment Day. I got the chance to meet all my colleagues from the communities at Karkhana. Although it was my first day here, I was able to bond with them.
As months have passed by, my perspective towards Karkhana has not changed since I experienced it previously. I have realized that Karkhana is the same place where we “Learn and Unlearn” while having fun and enjoying. The people at Karkhana live for what they preach.
As mentioned earlier, it all started with the day of love, and since then, I have been receiving love, care, and support. This gives me incredible motivation to work and impacts lives on a professional as well as on a personal level. I often try to live by one of the Karkhana Values which is where “We Push Boundaries in Everything We Do.”
